Fitech Laboratories, Inc. Offers Free Academic Licenses
Fitech Laboratories, Inc. is committed to supporting academic research and development in areas of high
performance computing, distributed transaction processing and grid computing.
The University Relationship Program offered by Fitech Laboratories, Inc. is now accepting proposals
for free academic licenses for research projects conducted by research centers and universities worldwide.
Research proposals have to meet the following requirements:
- The project should present a significant and provable research interest in distributed computing.
- The research should be made published noting the use of xTier.
Fitech Laboratories, Inc. will supply qualified projects with number of free academic licenses of xTier/GRID -
software solution for high-performance enterprise grid computing.
Depending on the project, Fitech Laboratories, Inc. is also ready to consider an additional assistance in training,
support and consulting in using xTier/GRID.
Fitech Laboratories, Inc. will help qualified projects in getting additional financial assistance from other
participating non-profit funds.
xTier/GRID for Java
The xTier/GRID provides a simple yet robust implementation for Enterprise Computational Grid (ECG) applications.
ECGs operate intra-company (within an existing company's security infrastructure) as opposed to Global Grids
which are inter-company architectures.
The xTier/GRID defines the software infrastructure for developing Near Real Time (nRT) ECG applications
and is best suited to solving computationally intensive tasks by splitting such tasks into multiple sub-tasks,
executing each sub-task on a dedicated grid node in parallel and then aggregating the results to achieve a final
result in approximately O(T/N) time assuming an optimal split.
Main features of xTier/GRID service include:
- Designed to solve enterprise computationally intensive problems.
- Near Real-Time (nRT) support additionally to traditional long-running
jobs.
- Direct support for task splitting, topology management, result aggregation and failover.
- Java and .NET interoperability using the xTier/GRID .NET client.
